Wool vs Acrylic — Which Should You Choose

Wool is the traditional choice — heavier, warmer, and more formal in appearance. Acrylic is lighter, more affordable, and easier to care for. Both are knife-pleated and built to the same construction standard.

If you’re buying for a one-time formal event, acrylic is a smart call. If you plan to wear it regularly or want the authentic feel, go wool.

Sizing a Traditional Kilt

Traditional kilts are sized by waist and drop length — not by pants size. Measure your natural waist (at or near the navel), your hips, and your drop length before ordering. Full instructions in our Kilt Size Guide.
